Among the liveliness of the often-busy Oregon Convention Center sits Stir Bistro and Lounge, a relaxing haven for visitors to enjoy some of the best bites that Portland has to offer.
The full-service bar and restaurant features a menu focused exclusively on local specialties, including Portland-area microbrews, wine from Oregon vineyards, and other homegrown spirits.
Stir is located within the larger corridor of the convention center. Therefore, designers needed an operable security gate to safeguard the lounge after hours. A Guardian Grade Fabricoil® Security Gate provided the optimal solution.
The operable security gate features 330 square feet of 3/8” aluminum Fabricoil in a Champagne powder-coating finish. The coiled metal wire mesh panel is equipped with a central locking jamb and channel, a series of footbolts to secure the fabric to the floor, and stainless steel batons to assist in the sliding operation of the system. The metal mesh is secured along the top edge with a Steel Secura Track attachment hidden behind the upper portion of the wall.
The flexible material gave designers the ability to specify a curved system that followed the round walls already in place at the convention center. In addition, Guardian Grade Fabricoil Security Gates maintain an elegant environment when secured, ideal for a contemporary bistro and cocktail bar.
