Cascade Pre-Engineered Security Gates & Screens are high-quality design solutions used to secure spaces while concurrently allowing views. Perfect for security in public common areas, storefront closures in retail settings, airports, convention centers, and other public spaces, Pre-Engineered Security Gates and Screens are cost-efficient and perfect for new or retrofit construction. Cascade’s Guardian Grade Fabricoil® wire fabric provides exceptional material strength, which is connected to a heavy-duty Secura Track with vertical aluminum channels that elegantly frame the fabric mesh. Cascade custom manufactures each Pre-Engineered Security Gate or Screen to meet your project requirements.

These systems are fireproof and easy to install. The durable lightweight Fabricoil® wire fabric does not require heavy support or large storage pockets. It allows free airflow for HVAC, is acoustically transparent, and allows signage, media, products and advertisements to remain visible while secured.

Explore the design and configuration options available for our pre-engineered security gates and screens, and contact Cascade Architectural’s technical sales department for assistance in the selection of wire fabric, tracks, locks, channels and other components to meet your exact vision and security requirements.

Pre-Engineered Security Gates & Screens

Configurations

GuardianCoil systems may be configured with a top track only or with both top and bottom tracks. Depending on the level of security and performance needed, GuardianCoil systems are customizable with a series of channels, lock assemblies, handles, and other hardware.
The system configuration will also vary based on where the opening lock channel lies: left end opening, right end opening, center opening, or left and right end opening. Intermediate channels with keyed locking footbolts are an option, or simply just securing the fabric at the jamb wall channel. The options are virtually limitless – designed to meet the exact security needs of your space.

Configuration Options

Calculating your stacking requirements is easy. Fill out the dimensions of your Clear Opening1 width into the dimension fields below and the stacking calculator will generate the following dimensional results:

  1. Stacking dimensions if the gate is stacked within the clear opening.
  2. Total track length dimensions if the gate is stacked within the clear opening.
  3. Stacking dimensions if the gate will be stacked beyond the clear opening.
  4. Total track length if the gate will be stacked beyond the clear opening.

1Clear Opening is the exposed area that the gate will cover to secure the space.

Fullness

Fabricoil® can create a billowing drapery effect by using more material than what is required to cover a given area. This effect is called "fullness" and is expressed as a percentage of additional material. Acceptable range for fullness is 15-200%.

Finishes

Presentation is Paramount. Durable custom finishes for every component of your Fabricoil® system.

To deliver your design vision, Cascade Architectural offers high-performance protective coatings for Fabricoil® and its attachment systems to achieve your project’s functional and aesthetic requirements. Coatings are provided in a wide range of colors and finishes including custom colors using your manufacturers paint codes or to match standard RAL finishes. For maximum durability, all exterior Fabricoil® Systems are Powder Coated unless natural finishes are desired. Cascade has conducted extensive successful salt-spray testing to ASTM G85 annex A5 test standards to 4,000 hours of exposure. Stainless Steel and Copper-Clad Steel can be left in its natural form. Left unfinished, Copper-Clad Steel will slowly change to brownish hues and ultimately a bronze/grey/green patina. Our team of experienced product specialists are ready to assist you in selecting the appropriate type of protective coating to bring your vision to life.

Fabricoil weaves come equipped with high-performance protective coatings or may be left untouched for a natural metal finish, no powder coating necessary. Below are a list of raw materials used to create Fabricoil® weaves and a guide to their finishes.

Aluminum

Aluminum 5056 – H18 Wire is an ideal material for our weaving process. Its ease of formability, high resistance to corrosion, excellent strength-to-weight ratio and its natural aesthetic qualities make aluminum wire the obvious choice for most applications. Our Aluminum Wire is very ductile-aiding to the weaving process, making it relatively cheap to manufacture. Being non-ferrous, the material does not discolor or deteriorate in most climates. Weighing almost 1/3-1/2 that of steel, Aluminum weaves can cover more area while adding minimal mass to its supports, again decreasing the overall cost. In its bare state, Aluminum Wire is light silver in appearance but can be coated any custom color. Additionally, our Aluminum wire can be polished to be more lustrous, called Brightened Aluminum. Aluminum is available in a wide variety of wire gauges.

Brite Nickel Plated Steel

Nickel Plated Steel Wire is our standard mild steel wire coated with a thin layer of electrolytic nickel. The coating not only offers a brilliant chrome finish but also helps in resisting corrosion. Typically, Nickel Plated Wire is used on interior applications where a high-gloss mirrored finish is desired. It is available in a wide variety of wire gauges.

Copper-Clad Steel

Copper-Clad Steel Wire is our mild steel wire with pure copper metallurgically bonded to the low carbon steel wire’s surface. The Copper-Clad Wire exhibits a brilliant red polished finish when extruded in the continuous solid-cladding process. However, if left bare and untreated the wire’s appearance will slowly change to brownish hues and ultimately a grey/green patina. Additionally, left in its natural form Copper-Clad Steel Fabricoil® is naturally antimicrobial resulting in increased public health safety but also increased durability and beautiful aesthetics. By applying a thin layer of clear automotive lacquer, the bright salmon color can be maintained if desired. Our Copper-Clad wire conforms to ASTM standards and has both interior and exterior applications. Copper-Clad Steel is available in a wide variety of wire gauges.

Silver Tin Plated Steel

Silver Tin Plated Steel Wire is our standard mild steel wire with a shiny, brilliant silver tin plated surface. The tin coating is Grade A and conforms to ASTM standards. Its relatively low cost and attractive finish make it a great choice for interior draperies and the like. Silver Tin Plated Steel is available in a wide variety of wire gauges.

Stainless Steel Type 316

Stainless Steel Type 316 exhibits very high levels of corrosion resistance when compared to most other stainless-steel types. It has a slightly higher strength than Type 304 and can handle higher temperatures. In most cases, Type 316 is used for all exterior applications where relatively high strengths and high resistance to oxidation or eroding is required. In its bare state, Type 316 has a lustrous metallic finish. Stainless Steel Type 316 conforms to ASTM standards and is available in a wide variety of wire gauges.

Steel

Brite Basic Steel Wire is a low-carbon, mild steel wire with a semi-bright finish. Its relatively high strength, durability and low cost make it a great choice for a wide variety of applications. Our Brite Basic Wire conforms to ASTM standards and can be coated almost any custom color. Brite Basic Steel is available in a wide variety of wire gauges.

Weaves

All Fabricoil® weaves share the same fundamental geometry, created by interlocking individual strands of spiraled wire. What varies widely is Fabricoil’s scale. The weave you select impacts the material’s percentage of open area (from 40% to 85%), textured appearance, thickness (from 3/32” to 1/2”), wire gauge (from 14 to 21), and ultimate strength. Your knowledgeable Cascade Architectural representative is ready to help you select the perfect weave for your application.
