Ceiling Feature for NBC Universal Event Light Show

When constructing the large stage which would be used to host light shows, videos, and pyrotechnics for an NBC Universal event in New York City, production company, Hudson ray, utilized Fabricoil® coiled wire fabric from Cascade Architectural to design an architectural ceiling feature that would anchor the space by adding a creative and unique visual element above while enhancing the guest experience by adding additional reflective surfaces that could be used during the light show.
Hung across center stage, the decorative 1/4" 18-ga. aluminum metal mesh curtains were finished in a luxurious Satin Bronze powder-coated finish. The angular metal mesh panels were mounted using Cascade's pre-engineered Hook with Steel Angle attachment system which provided a creative canvas and offered unique interplay with the lights.
As part of a complete coiled wire fabric system, the metal mesh panels were an optimal solution for the NBC Universal event for a variety of reasons. The lightweight metal mesh panels were easy to install and did not require additional supports to be suspended over-the-stage and the audience. Moreover, the semi-transparent nature of Fabricoil's spiral weave pattern uniquely absorbs and reflects light in incredibly unique ways, allowing the panels to take on new depth and dimension while simultaneously letting light permeate through to other surfaces within the space.
